Kenwood KDC-B7021 Radio Code & Decoding Service

Kenwood KDC-B7021

This Unit is activated by using the Blue Kenwood MASK Key Transmitter. When the unit is first switched on, the word TRANSMIT will be displayed and will wait for you to press and hold the button on the MASK Key so that the code can be sent.

If you are reading this, then you have probably misplaced or damaged your Blue Mask Key. Replacement Keys are only available if you have the original purchase receipts for the stereo, and must be submitted to Kenwood along with the stereo and an extortionate amount of money, so that they can check the serial numbers and issue a New Coded Key.

We provide a much cheaper solution. If You have lost your Blue Mask Key Transmitter, we can reprogram this radio so that it is no longer required, but you will need to send the unit to our workshop for this work to be carried out. Approx turnaround time is 48 hours from receipt to dispatch.

To remove the Radio, you will first need to remove the outer trim, this is simply clicked in place, but take care not to pull too hard in case the plastic lugs are damaged. Insert the removal keys until a click is felt down the sides and then withdraw the radio. The leads at the rear can then be unplugged.

Demonstration Mode:

To switch off the Demonstration Mode, briefly press the AUD button until USER PRESET is displayed. This will turn off the Demonstration mode for as long as a permanent 12V supply remains connected. This operation must be done before the Demonstration Mode activates itself. If it has already done so, simply remove the power for a few minutes, plug back in, and follow the above procedure.

Common Faults:

There is a common fault with this unit where the fascia will appear to be completely dead (although the Mask system will still operate). In most cases, this is due to a failed Flexitrack.

Code Entry as Follows:

Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" TRANSMIT " and then " [ ] 1 "
Aim the Blue Mask Key towards the Stereo
Press and Hold the Button on the Blue Mask Key
Now Repeat the Process - Display Shows
" TRANSMIT " and then " [ ] 2 "
Aim the Blue Mask Key towards the Stereo
Press and Hold the Button on the Blue Mask Key
The Radio will now switch on.
