E-Dump - Code Retrieval Service:
Before you start stripping down your set to obtain a Memory Dump, it may be worth having a quick look on our website to see what other solutions we can offer. With many stereos being added to our Fully Automated Instant Radio Code Service on a daily basis, it may often be easier and quicker to use that service instead - (May be cheaper and quicker too!!) Our charge for this service will depend upon the chipset and data size, and ultimately, the amount of work that we need to do.
Before we go any further, I need to make something very clear:
Reading a memory dump is not always a straightforward process, and we simply do not have the time to talk anybody through the process or answer any "Rookie" questions. But for the Newbies out there, please bear in mind that just because you can identify an EEprom on a board does not mean it contains any code data. Many radios nowadays have their code data stored in FIS or Flash memory, and if you try to read a modern 3v EEprom with a 5v programmer, then you may find yourself with a very expensive repair as a result. Please also bear in mind that most of the radios we see for repair nowadays are as a direct result of people with cheap programmers and very little knowledge.
If your are in doubt about what you are doing - STOP! and send the
radio to us.
If you do not know which chip to read - STOP! and send the
radio to us.
If you do not know where to connect your programmer - STOP! and send the
radio to us.
By all means send us a quick email first, asking if we can assist with a code for the Radio you have in front of you, but we will usually reply by asking you to go through the process of applying for a code anyway, because if you do have a radio we have never seen before, with the amount of technical resources we have available here, we are fairly confident that we can find some form of solution for you. In the event that we are unable to provide a code number, then we will simply refund your money. Please be aware that we will not refund any monies if we have suplied a code number, and in the unlikley event of a claim that the code number is wrong, then we will only credit any monies received against the cost of the unit being sent to our UK workshop for a full manual decode.
Please select your Memory type:
If your Chipset is not currently shown above, then please contact us for further information. We are able to read and decrypt most of the chip types that are not yet shown. If you have damaged your radio by failed programming or have attempted cloning, please contact us for further information and advice about our data recovery services.
