Project: Lamborghini Countach - Dave M.
|
Without a doubt, this car is the subject of many a fantasy. We have all dreamed about these cars,
and we just jumped at the chance to help Dave out with his equipment and install. Dave`s request was fairly simple, he wanted to be able to see where he was going when reversing. Rear vision is exceptionally restricted by a very small back window, and to sucessfuly reverse, you have to open the door, sit on the sill, and look over your left shoulder - it`s bloomin difficult !
|
Oh Yes !
Dave wanted to install the electronics himself, but as with all equipment of this nature, needed to seek professional advice as to how it all connected together, and where best to locate it.
We were more than happy to assist and advise.

Rear Camera
If you look just below the rear number plate, you can just see a small silver box about the size
of a matchbox.
That is a full colour camera, made by Clarion.

What a View
The image of the camera can bee seen on the 7" Clarion monitor that has been recessed into
the Dashboard. The camera and monitor are automatically activated when reverse gear is selected.
And it just so happens that the box section cills down the sides were the perfect size for a pair of Focal Polykevlar 5" subwoofers.

Doncaster Custom Show 2001 - April 7/8 Doncaster Racecourse, Yorks.
Alternative Car Show 2001
Newark showground
The car spends more time at shows than on the road, as Dave just loves to show off to a crowd . . . .
. . .and it certainly does draw a crowd !!

Car Craft 2002 Bingley Hall, Stafford
Unbelievably, Dave sold this car, but we met up with the new owner at the Stafford show in 2002.
Dave now has another project, and it draws an even bigger crowd!
