Our good friend Graham wanted some Sony XPLOD gear put into his car, but didn`t want to take up the whole boot, because, lets face it, the Seat Ibiza boot is tiny! We decided to build a subwoofer into one of the rear 1/4 panels and to mount an amplifier in the other. Graham then wanted the whole car to be lit in Green Neon lighting. I think he`ll be more than happy with the results
Fibreglass Box
The Sony XPLOD 12 Subwoofer needs quite a large box, but by carefully making a mould of the rear 1/4 panel of Grahams car, we were able to construct a box from fibreglass and MDF of exactly the right size. This is essential for the subwoofer to sound its best.
Sony Xplod
Now that the subwoofer is fitted and the box trimmed, it is a very tight and snug fit in the rear of
the car, but can be removed very quickly if access to the rear light clusters is required.
Amplifier
The amplifier has been sunk into the rear 1/4 panel on the opposite side.
Neon Lighting
With a green tube placed underneath the back shelf, the boot is illuminated whenever the tailgate is lifted. But it didn`t stop there.
Let There be Light
Two Fusion Neon tubes placed inside the footwells under the dashboard can produce an amazing amount of light inside the car.
Underbody Neon`s
No request for Neon Lighting would be complete without a full set of Underbody Neon`s. These ones are from Fusion.
