Project: Peugeot 306 1997 - Dave S.
|
Dave wanted to get as much sound as possible into the car, whilst still retaining some partial use of the boot, and all of this had to be done without looking obvious from the outside of the car.
Quite a challenge, but with a bit of thought and design, this is what we came up with:
|
The Box
As with the majority of our installations, the Heart of the system will revolve around one of our own Bass Enclosure designs, and this project is no exception!
A couple of Infinity Perfect 12`s have been crafted into a box that appears to fill the width of the car.
Does anyone know an easy way of removing that Protective Film around the Speaker? |
The Battery
A clever design of the box allows for the Extra Battery and split charge relay to be hidden out of sight. Delco Batteries are generally used by ourselves, due to their performance under load, and also because they are considerably better value for money than some so called "Professional" Batteries!
You know the ones we mean!
£60 Vs £250 Hmmmm !
Incidently, another feature of this design, is that the boot light now perfectly illuminates the new battery compartment..

The Power
Power comes from a Kenwood PS401 and PS501. Here we can see the lower boot floor taking shape. Notice the small cut out for spare wheel release in front of the right hand amp. |
Bootspace
I think you will agree, that there is still quite a bit of useable space left. A Power Stiffening Capacitor has been added to the left hand side, and a Fire Extinguisher complements the install on the right.
Trimming has yet to be finished.
